Congratulations on your vow renewal, Byron and Valerie!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking part in something very special for a special couple. I was invited to photograph the vow renewal of Byron and Valerie in Calhoun Square in downtown Savannah.

Byron and Valerie arrived in a horse drawn carriage along with their granddaughter. The sun was out and it was a lovely day to be outside. They were presented with flowers from Chad Baker, via Elope to Savannah and Rev. Steve Schulte officiated their ceremony. They already had their vows memorized and holding back the tears, all was said and done! Congratulations to them on 25 years of marriage.

The story has a twist though…Byron has terminal, stage 4 cancer and isn’t expected to survive for much longer. One would never guess that he had such a terrible disease; he’s vibrant and full of life and smiles. He and his bride of many years are very much in love and say that they’ve had a wonderful relationship and still are to this day!

So here are a sampling of their photos, which I expedited to the front of my editing queue so that I could send them to them quickly.
